Dinesh Khadka is a devoted member of the community and a leader who is a prominent figure involved in supporting the migrant families/ businesses and students from Nepal as well as establishing a solid foundation for the Nepalese community in New Zealand. Dinesh was a member of the Lions Clubs Hastings in 2000-2002. He was the founding national Coordinator of the Non-Residential Nepalese Association of New Zealand (NRNA) 2005-2007 and served as the Joint Secretary of the New Zealand Nepal Society Inc. from 2006-2008. He is the immediate past president of NZ Nepal Society Inc. 2016-2020.

He is currently the President of the NZ Nepal Chamber of Commerce Inc and serves as an Accredited Justice of Peace for the community. Dinesh has also been appointed as the Multicultural New Zealand Volunteer Navigator for the Auckland region. This is a fundamental role to bring together leaders from established multicultural communities on behalf of Multicultural New Zealand. He is the advisor for the NRNA (Non-Residential Nepalese Association).

Mr Dinesh Khadka was appointed by the Government of Nepal as the Present Honorary Consulate of Nepal for Auckland, Waikato and Northland region on 27th July 2022.
