Dr Lincoln Dam Lecturer, Auckland University of Technology (AUT)
Dr Lincoln Dam was born in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) to a Thai-Chinese mother and a Chinese-Cambodian-refugee father. He is a lecturer in Te Kura Mātauranga, the School of Education, at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). He is also a member of AUT’s Migrant and Refugee Health Research Centre.
Lincoln’s current research explores the ethics and politics of Asian-Indigenous relations in ‘White settler societies’. He is particularly interested in Asian-Māori and Asian-Te Tiriti relations in Aotearoa-New Zealand. Of interest, too, are related discussions about the co-existence of biculturalism and multiculturalism as public policy in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
Outside of AUT, Lincoln is on the Advisory Group for Inclusive Aotearoa Collective Tāhono (IACT) – a Te Tiriti-aligned organisation seeking to build a socially inclusive Aotearoa-New Zealand. He is also a member of the New Zealand Chinese Association, Multiethnic Young Leaders NZ, and the Asia New Zealand Foundation Leadership Network.
